Neighbors of faith prepare together

SACRAMENTO Calif. — Surrounded by rivers with water held back by levees flooding is a real threat to the Pocket area of Sacramento a short distance south of the city center. With that on their minds residents participated in an interfaith emergency preparedness fair on Saturday March 10 at Kennedy High School. The Sacramento 2nd Ward Sacramento California Stake joined five other faith groups promoting the fair which was also supported by the Sacramento city government private businesses and other organizations. Workshops covered flood risk and preparedness family and household emergency planning and school emergency response plans.
The interfaith coalition encouraged attendance at the fair stating: Regardless of which church we belong to if any we are all neighbors.
