How to Make an Emergency Preparedness Outline?

Planning workable outline for an emergency is a productive job. It is very important today to ensure the safety of one’s kith and kin as disasters can happen anytime anywhere.  The plan is nothing but a series of procedures that help prevent disasters, which is not at all a difficult task to prepare. Preparing for a disaster is one of the most important things to do. And guess what! A more balanced diet is needed in an emergency as compared to normal days! So food has to be kept at the first place while preparing an emergency outline. Storing non-perishable food is a good idea as far as emergency is concerned. Canned food is a good source of energy as well as nutrition.

A few things have to be taken care of while preparing an emergency outline:

  • Avoid food which can make you thirsty, as the situation does not permit that.
  • Make a first aid kit which is the second most important thing after food.
  • Purchase flashlights, which will be needed in power cuts.
  • Prepare a list of items that you already have such that you will be aware of them when needed.
  • Store drinking water in and near your house to stay hydrated
  •  Financial reserves are yet again a very important thing to keep in mind while planning.

These are a few points which have to be taken care of. Apart from this, bedding and clothing is needed along with important documents, which will be, of course, needed after things are back in shape.  In some countries they have meeting houses which they use as emergency shelters which they use occasionally. This can be incorporated in all the disaster habituated areas.

There are generally four phases for emergency preparedness.

  • Prevention
  • Preparedness
  • Response
  • Recovery

These phases will help you to prepare your own emergency preparedness outline.
